With our archiving you can separate data into three different types, depending on how often you access that data.
Active data - Data that resides on direct access storage is readily visible to the operating system or application that created it and is immediately accessible to users. This data is regularly in use and is frequently backed up. So it remains accessible if it should become lost or corrupted.
Archived data - Data that are too valuable to discard but are rarely accessed.
Inactive Archive - Data that is unlikely to be reaccessed, but that must be saved for compliance, legal, regulatory, or other business reasons.
